This is College Physics Answers with Shaun Dychko. What voltage is needed to store 0.160 millicoulombs on an 8.00 nanofarad capacitor? So I have expressed these quantities without prefixes so the 'nano' becomes times 10 to the minus 9 and the 'milli' becomes 10 to the minus 3 and then we look at our formula here which says capacitance is charge divided by voltage and we can solve for V by multiplying both sides by V over C and this leaves us with the voltage is the charge divided by the capacitance. So that's 0.160 times 10 to the minus 3 coulombs divided by 8.00 times 10 to the minus 9 farads which is 20.0 kilovolts.
