This is College Physics Answers with Shaun Dychko. The energy output of this bomb is the amount of mass that's converted into energy times c squared and so we'll divide the energy output by c squared to calculate mass. So we have 12 kilotons and then we have to convert that into joules so there's 4.184 times 10 to the 12 joules per kiloton and then divide by the speed of light squared and this gives us 0.559 grams of mass is converted into energy.
